BREAKING 200MPH

So I have set myself the challenge of getting the car to 200mph. This can't be done with the existing Getrag (G96) transaxle that I have in the car. The reason being that the gearing will only allow me to get to 176mph which is well short of my target. A new transaxle is needed.

I have ordered a custom built transaxle from a company called California Motorsports. The new transaxle will allow me to reach 222mph at 6,500rpm. This will also help my revs while cruising. I am taking a trip to france in May with four other Ultimas.

The new transaxle is a G96/50 which is used in the 996 turbo. It has been converted to just two wheel drive. It will have steel synchros and billet steel selector forks. It will also have a limited slip diff and a billet side plate. The billet side plate helps with the side forces applied to the crown wheel. The new transaxle should be here within a couple of weeks.
