ROLLING ROAD
Last Saturday I took the car to a local rolling road to do some mapping.
In the pic below you can see the car on the rollers minus its front and rear bodywork.

The rolling road session went very well. This rolling road can measure up to 300BHP at the wheels. This is fine for now as I did not want to load the engine above 4,000 rpm. The map was generally running too rich. After a few hours we had it mapped OK for now!
The car hit 300BHP at the wheels at 3,800 rpm which worked out just fine for me to get some miles on the engine.
On the Sunday morning I refitted the bodywork and took the car out for the first drive. I just did a few miles and took the car home to check all was well. After a few checks I fired her up again for another drive. This time I drove about 30 miles. The car was running fine. Under normal acceleration it does not come on boost and the bypass valve stays open. If accelerating harder the bypass valve closes all goes quiet and the car shoots towards the scenery. I drove the car taking it to 4,000 rpm in each gear, which in sixth is 100mph. Each time I change gear the bypass valve opens with a whoosh of air.
I drove some 150 miles on Sunday. I had a couple of problems. The first was a drop in fuel pressure leaving a roundabout. I pulled over and switched to the other tank and restarted and all was well, but there was still plenty of fuel in the tank so I need to find out what occured. The second problem is a missfire that occured just as I was near home at the end of the day. It only happened for a second but I was concerned at why it occured at all. On Wednesday evening I drove the car again and the missfire is still there, so tomorrow I will try and find the source of the problem.
I will be taking the car to the Stoneleigh Show this Sunday as long as it's not raining to hard. I will be taking it on the trailer I don't want to risk the engine this early on the the testing phase. I am also yet to fit an oil cooler. Hopefully I will drive the car the last few miles into the showground.
More updates soon!
